Every You Every Me
"Every You Every Me" is a single by British alternative rock band Placebo, from their second album, Without You I'm Nothing. It reached number 11 in the UK Singles Chart. The lyrics were written by frontman Brian Molko and Paul Campion, lead singer of the band AC Acoustics.
The single was featured on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack. There are two versions of the video, both filmed live at London's Brixton Academy; one includes clips from the movie Cruel Intentions, the other does not. There are two slightly different recordings of the song; the single version which is also on the album Once More with Feeling, and the album version on Without You I'm Nothing.
The song was also used in the "Sorry" skate video (from the company Flip Skateboards) during Mark Appleyard's video part. The song is also featured in the PlayStation video game F1 2000. It is also featured in mobile rhythm game Guitar Rock Tour 2.
This song was voted from a poll of 500,000 votes to be ranked number 83 on the list of the Hottest 100 of All Time in July 2009, conducted by Australian radio station Triple J.[1]
Live performance history
The song has been a staple of the band's setlist since 1998. It has undergone several changes throughout the band's history, with versions since 2003 containing a new intro riff. Notably during the winter 2006 leg of the Meds tour, it was significantly extended to approximately 6 minutes in length during performances.
